Scottsdale

One of greater Phoenix's most prestigous communities located in the middle of the Sonoran desert is Scottsdale. Founded in 1888 by Army Chaplain Winfield Scott, Scottsdale still projects a "West's Most Western Town" image found in Old Town Scottsdale, and on nearby ranches although nowadays is synonymous with upscale hotels and restaurants, boutique shopping, art galleries, cultural opportunities and architecture.

With a growing population, Scottsdale is now home to approximately 200,000 residents and spreads over 183 square miles. Ecologically conscious, Scottsdale strives to protect its mountain and desert areas, with projects like the Indian Bend Wsh Greenbelt, a natural alternative to conventional concrete channels. Since 1965, Scottsdale has developed 1,917 acres of parks, 36 acres of lakes, 40 miles of bike trails and 35 recreational facilities.

Fountain Hills

Established in 1970, Foot Hills sits at an elevation of several hundred feet above Phoenix and is tucked into the McDowell Mountains. Residents can experience slightly cooler temperatures and crisp air in Foot Hills. This 11,340 acre city offers views that are breathtaking.

Landmarked by a 560 foot fountain, Foot Hills offers housing options that include planned communities featuring scenic golf courses and recreational facilities, condominiums, single-family, and custom built homes.

Carefree/ Cave Creek

High in the Sonoran desert overlooking the Sun Valley are the neighboring communities of Carefree and Cave Creek. This is the place to call home in Arizona if you are looking for a laid-back lifestyle with a touch of the old west mixed with urban sophistication.

Situated just 20 miles north of Phoenix, outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy the slightly cooler Arizona temperatures while hiking, bicycling, horseback riding, golfing, and jeep touring. Residents will enjoy prestigiously built homes and golf courses woven into the mountains.

Mesa

Just 12 miles southeast of Phoenix is the city of Mesa, the third-largest city in the state of Arizona. In the East Valley, Mesa has the reputation for being a good town for families. Mesa's shopping, recreational, educationa and cultural amenities are some of the most extensive in the Valley. The Mesa Public School District has an excellent reputatuon and educates approximately 70,000 students a year. Mesa is a popular place of residence for the senior set as well, especially for those senior winter visitors.

Residents enjoy the vista's from the Valley's backyard peaks of Camelback Mountain, Squaw Peak, South Mountain Park and Papgo Park.

Tempe

Tempe is a dynamic place to live and offers a quality of life unparalled to any place in the country. Tempe is Arizona's sixth-largest city with approximately 160,000 residents. Tempe offers the combination of easy access to highways and amenities, being a high-tech business center, the small-town feeling of a college community, a cultural center for all, the sports capital of Arizona and home to the Arizona State University Sun Devils and the NFL's Arizona Cardinals.

Neigborhoods throughout Tempe resemble every style of home, from adobe style to luxury compounds with acreage and horse privileges. You'll find many housing developments centered around Tempe's extensive network of parks.

Chandler

Only 25 miles southeast of Phoenix, Chandler was founded in 1912 by Dr. A. J. Chandler, a Canadian immigrant who subdivided his expansive farmlands for residential use. No longer recognized as an agricultural area, Chandler is a sophisticated city with cultural roots. Home to the Chandler Center for the Arts, residents can enjoy performances of ballet, opera, popular music performers and more.

More than 90,000 residents live in Chandler which reflects a recent population increase over the past twenty years. Many young families reside here taking advantage of the proximity to Phoenix.

Gilbert

Situated 18 miles southeast of metropolitan Phoenix, Gilbert is one of the fastest-growing towns in the country. Although this fast-growing community has doubled in size every five years since 1980, Gilbert offers its residents small-town atmosphere and progressive planning for the future. Here you will find planned communities that include parks, equestrian trails, fishing, boating and local business services all within walking distance. Gated communities are also available in Gilbert.

Some of Gilbert's success is due to a strong high-tech industry as well as providing families with quality education, leisure acitivities and a strong sense of public involvement.

Glendale

Glendale is Arizona's fourth-largest city and has managed to maintain it's historic charm while earning its reputation as a financial and business hub.

Residents will enjoy the the abundance of amenities necessary for a quality life-style. Recreational abound which include 56 parks and Thunderbird Regional Park. Known as Arizona's Antique Capital, you'll find over 80 antique shops, eateries and quaint specialty shops around Historic Murphy Park. Glendale offers master-planned communities, luxury executive homes, older residences in quiet, tree-lined neighborhoods. Also avialable are starter homes, apartments, townhomes, and condominiums.

Peoria

Another rapidly-growing city located 15 miles northwest of downtown Phoenix, is Peoria. Peoria spans over 117 square miles and has more than 90,000 residents.

Featuring one of the best school districts in Arizona, affordable housing, one of the most comprehensive medical and health care facilities in the Valley, makes Peoria a higly desirable place to call home. Take advantage of the Peoria Sports Complex to watch the Seattle Mariners and San Diego Padres train each spring as well as the magnificent Lake Pleasant.

Sun City/ Sun City West

Just a half hour's drive from downtown Phoenix, Sun City now has over 46,000 residents. With over 8,900 acres, this retirement community developed by Del E. Webb offers stress-free living to those 55 and over. Sun City West was built four miles away from Sun City in 1978 and is home to over 30,000 senior residents. You'll find restaurants, retail, medical and financial facilities all within an easy reach.

Surprise

Transformed from a small farming community founded in 1929, Suprise is dramatically growing with and estimated population of 65,000 by 2005. Located just 22 miles northwest of Phoenix, Sun City Grand is a Del Webb active adult community that includes 9,500 homes with 17,000 residents spread over 4,000 acres west of Grand Avenue. In addition, Surprise is experiencing retail, business and family community growth.
